Sweating Bullets

Today we went to Haeundae beach to check it out... and it was a hot day! Even though it was cloudy it was still making us sweat bullets just being in the humidity. We are so ready for fall weather! We can't wait to hike more - and we will get pictures at the outdoor mountain workout area.

This morning we went to an International church and there were so many really nice people we met. Most of them were our age and there were lots of couples. They were super friendly and took us out for lunch afterwards. We hope we made some new friends today and that we will get to hang out with them again soon.

After lunch we went to the beach. We didn't swim because the water was really cold, and we didn't have a beach towel. Haeundae beach is the biggest tourist beach in South Korea - and many Koreans come here. Usually during "beach season" or official summer, the Koreans are swarming this beach. Usually you can't even be in the water without being in a crowd of people we have heard. Well since summer is over for kids we were told the beach would be much less busy, and it was cloudy but there still seemed like plenty of people to me. However, this is a slow day for the beach.
Jon getting his feet wet - and it was really cold :)
And suuuuper refreshing since it was so hot outside.
A view of the beach. Each umbrella isn't occupied I don't think - those stay up most of the time.
Two really cute little boys jumping the waves when they broke. I love that they have swim caps and goggles on their heads!
Jon washing the sand off his feet in the little sand washing off tub :)
Lots of exploring wore him out. Ok, so he isn't really sleeping - we just wanted one of the long couch :)
We want one of these in our apartment. jk.
Random pot.
Ok so outside of the E-mart (wal-mart) there was a stage and these little girls up there dancing, quite provocatively... I couldn't believe it! We were basically speechless! I couldn't help but take a picture because it is so bizarre to me!
At the end of the day - we've been going for about 10 hours and we're catching the bus to come home with our new apartment goodies in tow.
Eating one of my favorite snacks - tomatoes with salt!!!! This is one half of the studio apartment we are now living in. More pictures of the apartment tomorrow.

This will be our first full week of teaching - we'll see how we handle 5 days in a row :) Then one more week after that before we have our first vacation!!! How lucky are we???

  1. Jon and Nicole,
We love your pictures! You guys look fabulous and adventurous! I love it! We have a few questions. Do you have any English speaking TV? Do you have AC? What is your favorite drink?
    Love you both,
    Annie and Nate
