We went to Shinsegae, which was pronounced the World's largest department store a few years ago by the Guinness Book of World Records. It is big.

Playing with the touch screen wall/camera.
After Shinsegae we went to Costco - one of Jon and my favorite monthly events. We always eat the pizza there because it is so delicious. The Koreans often fill a whole plate with onions and then cover it in ketchup and mustard and eat it as a salad. Jon thought he'd try a little bit. Wasn't a big fan.

Costco was crazy! We went the weekend before the national holiday week of Chinese New Year. Not the smartest time to go, but fun all the same.

Checking out with our goodies! Truffles - always good to have on hand.

We were asking directions to start walking to the subway and try and catch a cab on the way, but the police just offered us a ride. Kinda cool. We didn't get arrested for premeditated gluttony, although we could have after leaving Costco with loads of deliciousness.

Day 4 we had school so mom and dad ventured to the bank, checked out our local grocery store and rested while we worked. After work we headed to a near by subway stop where there is a great hole in the wall Japanese restaurant, but it was closed. SO we came back and found a Korean hole in the wall near us that actually serves a soup I really love but didn't know was by our apartment.

Mom and Dad seemed to enjoy the Dwajigokbop. It is rice and noodles in a broth with green onions and pork and you add salt or some spicy sauce to flavor it. Very tasty and warm on a cold night.

This was a good Korean meal with several versions of kimchi and baby sardines as side dishes.

Afterward we went screen golfing, which is one of Jon's favorite things to do here. It's like real golf but you hit it at a screen and it uses cameras and sensors to figure out where the ball would actually go.

Hey guys! - What fun you're having! The shopping and food looks good and you are really experiencing the culture. A ride in a police car? Wow - that can add some interest to the story when you get home. Costco keeps you connected with home. We are following your blog and enjoy seeing the pictures of you all together having fun. Keep it up! Love to all!
