catching up

We're about to do a lot of catching up. We leave tomorrow to spend 6 days with some of our very close friends in Thailand. We met Parrish, Kelli, Joel, Amy, and all but two of their newest kids in Arkansas and we are thrilled to be going to visit them! It will be a blast. Parrish and Kelli lived in S. Korea for a year a while back and they are the ones who got us considering it in the first place. They have all lived in Thailand now for almost a year and a half. We are so thankful to be close enough to spend our school vacation with them.

And soon we will be back in the states, visiting Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Tennesee, and Alabama. We get around. There will be a whole lot of catching up to do then! We can't wait to see all of you.

So to follow the theme... I should catch up the blog. It's been a long time and I ran out of steam for a while there. But we're up and running again and here are a few photos from this past month or so.

We went to a baseball game for the Busan team, the Lotte Giants. Their baseball games are like our football games. They aren't boring or quiet the way I think baseball is back home, at least in my opinion (no offense to the baseball fans... I just like a little more excitement). The crowd is rowdy and they have a different chant/song for each player. At the 7th inning we all wear orange bags on our heads. It's cool. We look cool.

Jon got a new haircut. How does it look? It lasted 2 minutes.

I made homemade green olive pizza for the first time in over 11 months. It was all I had been dreaming of and more! I love this meal. It's too bad the cheese costs an arm and a leg and a kidney.

A park a few miles from our house. We loved seeing the big trees and the grass. This scene is not very common!!

Costco steal. About...28 bagels for $10. We freeze them.

Jon playing at Mr. Ha's house with YayJin. Mr. Ha uses this contraption to work out... but it looks like a swing to me.
YayJin giving us Korean lessons.

Check out YayJin and YayOun's swim wear. I've never seen so many articles of clothing in a pool. And funny story...The water is knee deep and while the kids were swimming around, all with inner-tubes (they seem to have a fear of water/swimming here), the adults were only walking around in the water making sure their kids didn't drown. Jon was THE ONLY person over the age of 10 that was actually swimming in the water. Pretty funny stuff.

We had a great, but short visit with your mom & dad last week. I can't wait to see you in October when we come down for the women's conference. I'm really looking forward to it. Aunt Dawn and I will have an exciting October, we are going to New York with a doz. or so people from church to a worship & music conference at the Brooklyn Tabernacle the first weekend in October. Enjoy your Thailand trip! Love the hair cut Jon, it is so you. ;)
