For a month each summer it is appropriate to swim. We will never understand this, but the Koreans only seem to swim in part of July and August and then stop, even if it is still hot outside. Oh well, to each his own. But during that short time we had the little pool on our roof filled for a couple days so the kids could go swimming. Jon took advantage of it one night after school.
This is Andy and he is ready for swimming time. How awesome is his "swimming suit!"
Recently we went to a Pizza restaurant that had a salad bar. For dessert there was a yogurt buffet and you could put different things in your yogurt like cereal, nuts, etc.... and cheese puffs. Yeah, not so good.
Our friend, Phillip, has this ridiculous massage chair at his house. I want one. Seriously.
This is Phillips son. He likes eating pig's foot. Just picks it up and gnaws the meat off the bone. It was hilarious.
We had a little barbecue in the gym at our school. It was fun just hanging out with the teachers and eating some good food in the school.
My kids have done a really good job with their reading lately. We finished reading "The Little Mermaid" and I thought it would be fun and rewarding for them to watch the movie. So we set up Nicole Teachers Movie Theater and they watched the Disney film without subtitles while drinking chocolate milk. I was very impressed with how well they followed and understood the movie without any Korean assistance! My babies are growing up. I remember just beginning to teach them two years ago and we were doing the ABC's. Now they are writing paragraphs of their own creative stories.
I've been helping my boss interview the new foreigners who will be coming to our school and she wanted to thank me so she took me to get my nails done. This is what I came home with. Super fun and sassy. I'd probably never have nails like this back home. I'm living on the wild side.

you kiddos are so advanced. Do you think you will miss teaching?? I think your nails turned out cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the nails, they are sassy! So fun to hear & see what you are doing. I imagine that is will be hard to leave your kids. Love you both.
