We are going today to get fingerprinted for the second time. We didn't do anything, we aren't criminals. We actually need a criminal background check for out visa and the first one we sent to the FBI will take about 3 months, which isn't fast enough because.........
We got a job offer!!!!!
We will be flying to South Korea August 23rd and will begin teaching in Sinpyeong-dong on September 1st. This is a smaller neighborhood in the large city of Busan. Busan is comparable to Chicago I think. Anyway, we are on our way! Once we get our paper work in order and the visa stuff gets processed we'll be all set.
Our school has been really good about talking with us and answering all our questions. We had an interview Wednesday and shortly after hanging up we were informed through the recruiting agency that we got the job. We have also been in contact with one of the current American teachers there, which has been so helpful! It sounds like a great set up for us... the hours we want, good pay, good living, a great location, a good school, etc.
We've also told Parrish & Kelli about it (who also taught for a year in South Korea - where we got the idea from) and they have said that we have some really good things set up for us there.
It's so exciting that it's really happening. Please be praying that our Criminal Check from Ohio will come through very quickly so we can start the visa application.
