Just another day

Just a couple more random things - This is a place called Seomyeon, kind of the center of the city or one of the bigger hubs of activity. We went at night and it was just so full of life.

Yes this is a real clothing store and people wear things that say this on it...

This is Beth...I was her RA in college and realized through facebook that she is here in Busan too, but only for a few more weeks. So we had dinner and she shared many good things with us about Busan, she has lived here for 2 years.

This is a coffee shop that is kind of modeled like a doll house. There is a main room where there are snacks, cookies, coffee, etc. and you pay 6,000 Won or about $5.50 and you can use a room for 2 hours and have as much of the food and coffee you want - people do homework in there, watch TV, make phone calls, play games, read. We didn't go inside because of time, but we want to sometime. :) How random huh.

Things have been going well for us. It was hard going back to work after 9 days of vacation, but we're getting back in the swing of things. We had to do our first report cards this week, so that is another new thing to learn. The grading scale is an A+ to an A- and that's it. Kind of a weird system huh? But it makes it pretty easy.

Tomorrow night we are excited because we found some lettuce which is expensive and rare, we splurged on ground beef, cheese, and tortilla chips at Costco and we brought taco seasoning with us so we are going to have some nachos - the best we can do here :) But it will be a comfort food!! It's the little things like that I'll miss - cream cheese, caesar salads with croutons, cheese, and baking cookies. Well really baking anything! We have one burner, one pan, and 2 pots :) We are definitely learning to simplify, but it's been kind of nice. Although it will feel like Christmas when I get back to the States and bust out all my beloved Pampered Chef!!!!

  1. How were the nachos? I love the picture of the city at night, so colorful. That coffee shop looks so fun, it reminds me of a Barbie doll house. :)
