We've been enjoying our vacation! We have spent many hours at various beaches and hiked a couple smaller mountains. We also went on a retreat with a church here and met some really cool people. There are still 3 more full days before we go back to school and we hope to do some more Busan exploring. Tomorrow night we are meeting up with a girl that actually went to our college and is here in Busan. It will be nice to see a familiar face and get some of her tips and knowledge on Busan after she has lived here for 2 years. We are still enjoying trying out new foods and practicing our Korean. I am getting a pretty good grip on the alphabet and will soon be able to read Korean, which will be really helpful for the buses and restaurants.

This is the hike up to the work out area in the small mountain behind our apartment.

And the outdoor work out area. (Especially for aunt Joann!)

They have all kinds of cool stuff you can do.

This week we had off because of the Korean Thanksgiving so we went on a retreat with one of the international churches down here. We met a lot of cool people and of course had some good american food - including hamburgers!

Today we went hiking up Mt. Hadan, a slightly larger mountain in the neighborhood next to ours. And we saw yet another outdoor workout area. These are everywhere.

And the view from the place we stopped. We didn't make it all the way to the top - we were on the wrong side, but next time we'll get even a little bit higher.

It was beautiful!

Jon hanging off the edge of the cliff..... not really.
This is the huge ugly centipede we saw on the trail. We've seen several of these now - how sick!

how fun! It blows my mind that you will be able to read soon. Chinese is so hard. I did hear that learning the alphabet in Korean is not too hard and then once you do that you can read. That is SO helpful!
ReplyDeleteReally hoping we can work something out to see you guys. I think it would be really fun!
Keep exploring and enjoying your vacations.
Aunt Joann is very impressed with your pictures, especially the workout area. Thank you!! How cool! I might get skinny if I was with you. The mountains look awesome and I really enjoy your blog. Glad yougot some hamburgers. I am most impressed with your language skills and learning Korean--most helpful!!!This is such a great experience for you! Enjoy!!
