Teachers day happened this past month...which was fun for us. We got a lot of fun presents from our kids. I had to post my favorite one, which just happens to be from one of my favorite students. This is the note from his mother:

Some of our school nights we get take out Korean fast food and sit on our floor and watch an episode of 24. We'll miss these days when they're gone. Great memories of the everyday.

This past weekend we took a four hour bus ride with our Busan church members up to a city just south of Seoul, where our "mother" church is located. We are a smaller branch of that church...which is where our Pastor is located. At our church we have live worship, but the messages are always live via satellite. He is American and his wife is Korean, so they make a good team as he speaks and she translates. They just built a new sanctuary, so our church went up together to join in the celebration service to dedicate the new sanctuary. To our surprise Cindy Jacobs and her husband were there to give a prophetic word about the church and pray over it. She came up and met us (I think just because we were the only foreigners in the room), but it was still pretty cool. I don't know her well, but Jon has read one of her books and she is part of a Jesus Culture conference, which is based out of Bethel - the church we hope to go to for a year to be in their ministry school one day. All in all it was just a special blessing for us to have heard her speak and have shook her hand. Thank you Lord for your unexpected goodness.
On our way home from Pangyo and the church celebration we stopped to have a meal. Here is Jon with Mr. John taking a picture with the mudfish. These ugly little guys were our lunch... Ugh it grosses me out thinking about it, but the whole fish gets put in a blender and added to a soup.

The mudfish soup. NOT my favorite meal. It was hard to make myself eat it.

Lunch with a group of our church members. My blonde hair does stand out a bit ha ha.

Ohhh what a sweet note! It kinda made me tear up. I know God is using you guys in big ways over there. It is easier having you away knowing all that you are experiencing, all the people whose lives you are touching and whose lives are touching yours. BUT I still can't wait for September!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I still haven't got dad to committ to the conference yet! :( maybe you should text him again. :)
