Last night we went to the Busan International Firework Festival with our Korean-English teachers. This festival is held annually since like 2004. There is a beach called Gwangalli and there is a beautiful bridge over the water called the Diamond bridge. For the fireworks they shut down the bridge and they use it to shoot off the fireworks, along with three ships out in the water also shooting off fireworks. It was beautiful. The streets were packed, and people come ours ahead of time just to get good seats. Luckily for us one of the teachers has an aunt who lives almost right on the beach and we sat on the roof of her apartment building and had an amazing view. Here are a few pics of the event.
Just getting there was a trip - the subways were packed!!!

Here are the crowds below us - jam packed!

Before the show began. You can see the bridge in the background. Of course we are sitting on the ground with our shoes off. :)

And the show begins. Wish I could explain how big they were - just compare them to the size of the bridge which is pretty big in my opinion in the first place.

Rainbow!

Here you can see some shooting off the ships on the left.

Having a blast!

Here are our seats - what great view.

Part of the finally. Huge!

From left to right... Jeffery (other English teacher) Flora, Sue, Jenny, Bonnie, Me and Jon... the girl in the front I don't know haha. Sue is my partner teacher and Jenny is Jon's partner. They are fun girls.

It was a really fun show. Afterward we got Coldstone ice cream, and then cheese fries, mozzarella sticks, and cherry coke. A good night!
The fireworks look beautiful, you had great seats! It reminded me of Bay City's 4th of July fireworks because Tim & I stand on the bridge and watch them go off over the river.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like there is something going on there all of the time. so glad that you are getting to see & do so much. Love you!
What a fun night. Great pictures too! You sure are getting to experience some cool things. Watching fireworks on a rooftop in South Korea, who would have thought?!
ReplyDeleteI'd say an awesome night! And what great seats. Reminds me of our trip to Sydney last Christmas and we were there for NYE. We watched the fireworks over the harbor bridge. But it was an AWEFUL experience! your seats looked MUCH better and the fireworks are gorgeous!
